A huge defining moment in my life was when my little brother, Mitchell, was born. He was born on June 19, 2008. It really was the best day of my life because I never had anyone to play with before he came. My sisters would always hang out with each other and leave me out. Mitchell and I were inseperable, some might even say "conjoined at the hip." We were and still are best friends. Even though he is only eight years old, I tell him everything. He probably doesn't understand anything about what I'm talking about, but that's why I like him. He doesn't tell anyone anything. He's the coolest brother ever.
Another big defining moment in life was when I played on my very first volleyball team. The first volleyball team that I ever played on was a club team for ICMS. All of my friends were on it. Mrs. Hedrick, the old middle school counselor, was the coach. Honestly, we weren't that good because none of us had ever played volleyball before that, but just the fact that we had the chance to play was a good opportunity. Ever since that winter team, I have played volleyball all year round. In the fall I play for the school volleyball team, in the winter and spring I play club volleyball, and in the summer I have school volleyball open gyms.
My last defining moment was very recent. As you might know from the rest of my website, I have lots of animals at my house. My favorite of all of them are the cows. About a month ago, my cow that I showed at the fair last year gave birth. It was about midnight and I was getting ready for bed and my dad came into my room. He said that we had to go check on the cow because it was her due date. We got on the mule and slowly drove through the pasture. When we found the cow, she already had one hoof of the calf out. That's when everything went wrong. The cow laid down in a thorn bush and popped the sack. When this happens you have to pull the calf out with your hands as soon as possible because it could suffocate. My dad and I began to pull. It took about thirty minutes of pulling before the calf came out. When he did, he rolled into the creek. I had to jump into the water and get him because he couldn't stand up yet. This experience was life-altering because that was the moment that I decided that I for sure want to be a livestock vet. I want to be able to help with cows, pigs, or horses everyday of my life.
